Wang Xiaoyan (王小燕), Associate Professor, MA in English Language and Literature (Translation Theory and Practice) from Xi’an International Studies University (XISU) (2004); Postgraduate Diploma in English Language Teaching (2007) from NIE, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; MA in Applied Linguistics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2009). Major undergraduate courses instructed by her include: An Introduction to Translation Basics; Contrastive Linguistics and Translation between English and Chinese; Contrasts between English and Chinese Words and Translation; Contrasts between English and Chinese Syntax and Translation; Introduction to English Linguistics, Advanced English Writing; and English Listening Comprehension. Her academic interest mainly includes: contrastive linguistics and translation, translation studies, translation strategies, the cognitive process of translation, translation pedagogy, translators’ competence research, and meta-cognitive awareness in translation. She has published two international conference papers, and four academic papers, and is the second author of the book Business English Translation Studies. She has also completed one research project granted by the Social Science Federation of Shaanxi Province, and coached one University Student Innovative Practice Project of the national level. Starting from August 24, 2016, she was a visiting scholar at York University, Canada for one year.
